Paradiso - Triangle of DJ Club Love
Once upon a time in Akasaka there was the Cordon Bleu, a high-class cabaret
of many Elvis sightings and cold-war spy stories. Some of the old-time regulars
will swear that it was none other than James Bond who got into that brutal
fight with three Russian agents on that cold winter night.
Even Elvis once said the Cordon Bleu would make a good DJ nightclub.
And look how right he was. The new Paradiso has it all. The mirrored access,
the class, and lots of space. Best of all, it's nestled at the edge of Akasaka,
forming a magic triangle with Nogizaka and Roppongi and a short walk or
cab ride from such five-star hotels as the New Otani, Capitol Tokyu, and
Okura.
For those with wheels there is a huge underground car-park 50 meters
down the road from Paradiso's canopied entrance. Once you've made it down
the mirrored staircase you enter a huge dance floor with a gigantic square-shaped
bar. Rumor has it that in order to get hired the staff must demonstrate
above-average roller-skating skills. Five dozen pairs of inline skates are
kept in a secret back-room behind a "Staff Only" sign, and can
be commissioned on short notice in times of customer demand for even faster
service.
Such is the vastness of Paradiso that stories abound of dates lost and
found all within the space of a few hours. A DJ nightclub of such dimensions
naturally attracts the hip, the groovy, and the pretty - a sure-fire recipe
for a more-dudesses-than-dudes ratio, what with hundreds of hostess clubs
in the area leaving thousands of luxury babes stranded for the night, were
it not for Paradiso! That's right. The Paradiso beckons the pretty as nectar
brings the bee.
And then there are the models. Young ones mainly, who dance instead of
doing their aerobics at the gym. This in turn keeps the dudes happy and
coming back for more. In fact, everybody seems to be happy at Paradiso.
Not surprisingly so. Check it out the next time you're spending the night
out on the town. Wherever you are, if it's past midnight and you still haven't
made it to Paradiso, get into gear and don't miss a beat.
Paradiso. Clubbing at its best.
