She has been running Hug for 2 years, and while she won't necessarily greet you with a HUG, Chako will most assuredly be welcoming. Hug has 2 floors and features a bar and karaoke facilities (including tambourines for the particularly enthusiastic) and plays Yusen when the karaoke machine is taking a rest. Madame Mar is the formidable owner of the establishments that bear her name. Madame Mar is the younger and more spacious little sister to Mars Bar. The long bar means that patrons can sit and chat comfortably while Madame Mar pours the drinks and provides the entertainment (sometimes in the form of shouting out which of her customers are single). With lots of regulars and bar staff who know their customers, Madame Mar is one great all-female hangout. The cover charge of 1,500 yen will get you a homemade snack, and if you're hungry, you can order a bite to eat from the menu of bar nibbles. Be sure to catch Madame Mar's monthly party (on the last Saturday of every month) and keep your eyes open for special events advertised at the bar.
