Good French food doesnt have to be a necktie affair - not since Richard Rodot has opened his cozy restaurant down in Ogikubo. Its a place where the owner himself clad in jeans and t-shirt serves you. And none of his customers seem to mind when he occasionally fills their empty coffee cups with some homemade plum schnapps.
Brin De Muguet is a unique place that combines a relaxed atmosphere with haute cuisine of a very high standard. Prepared by Chef Laurent Peugeot, who has gained experience as chef de cuisine at the 3-star-restaurant Lameuloise in Bourgogne/France, the food is guaranteed to be of first choice quality, and as close to authentic French food as the Japanese market allows.
Richard Rodot, who built the whole interior himself with the help of some friends, opened the restaurant five months ago. Richard is here to share his friendliness with his customers. Hes always keeping his eyes open to find freshness and quality for the best market prices, to make a fine French dinner an affordable joy not only for the rich and famous.
Brin De Muguet offers three menu sets: A three-course menu for ¥3,500, a four-course menu for ¥4,800 (both of them to choose a la carte, with additional prices between ¥200 and ¥1,000 for certain dishes), and a special recommendation menu for ¥6,500. Dishes include foie gras poché en gelée de pinot noir, rouelles de homard et confit de fenouil dans son fus, original French cheese and desserts, and other highlights.
An even bigger pride shines in Richards eyes when he unwraps some of his finest French wines, including a few ranking among the top world list, but that youll never find in a Japanese supermarket. Also you wont find the original digestifs that Monsieur Rodot senior is producing back home in France, and Richard carries to Tokyo personally.
Or how about a wine from your year of birth? Just ask Richard and give him a couple of days. The list of original features to enjoy nowhere else but at Brin De Muguet seems endless, so why dont you come and see for yourself?
