T.Y. Harbor
Brewing Co.

Take the light and airy feel of the new-style California eateries, throw in the micro-breweries of the Pacific Northwest and mix it with the beautiful ocean patios of a Cape Cod restaurant and what do you get? Something that, for sure, has never been seen in Tokyo before. T.Y. Harbor Brewing Co. is an authentic micro-brewery serving up delicious varieties of home-made ale (this stuff NEVER sees the inside of a bottle) as well as genuine Californian cuisine.

Located in the wonderfully refurbished area of Tennoz Isle on Tokyo Bay, T.Y. Harbor Brewing Co. uses a redesigned, 50-year-old warehouse that boasts
60-foot ceilings and refreshing ocean breezes. Sit in the relaxed bar for the house specialty, a T.Y. Harbor ale, or dine in the spacious main room, replete with relaxing whitewashed walls and a steel lighting system

reminiscent of sculpture from the American artist Alexander Calder. This motif fits right in because the dining room is also an art showcase, providing generous wall space for both up-and-coming and established artists to show their work. "We’re very eager to give young artists some exposure," says General Manager David Chiddo, "plus it makes the place look really attractive!" The artwork changes
on a bi-monthly basis, and, for the connoisseur,
is all for sale.

When it comes to the menu, Chiddo and his team have re-worked the entire concept to be representative of the Californian culinary aesthetic. Try the aptly named "all-American sandwiches" for the girth and taste of stateside sandwiches. For main dishes the "beer-marinated, grilled free-range chicken with garlic and thyme" is exquisite, capturing the atmosphere and attitude of T.Y. Harbor perfectly.
