Salsa anyone? Don't know the steps? No sweat. Salsa Sudada offers
dance lessons every day of the week (Fridays free Merengue class
7 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and is open for live practice all night, every
night. Libidinous Latin rhythms and a friendly multinational crowd
are sure to keep you in motion and fully entertained. Nobody remains
glued to his seat for long, as there are always lots of fleet-footed
dance partners. As the night progresses, it is not unusual for
spontaneous loco-motion formations to take shape, where everybody
dances in one large single file snaking around the entire dance
floor.
Prices are extremely reasonable. There is no cover charge on weeknights.
And you only pay Yen 1,500 (includes one drink) on weekends when
throngs are lining up to join the action. Drinks start at Yen
500 at the long bar. Salsa Sudada is definitely the place for
dance aficiona-dos. In fact, it's a dancer's heaven. And by "dance"
we don't mean that hip-hop disco stuff, but frolicking Latin salsa
steps of a Mayan/Incan blend with Spanish fire, a generous dose
of Mexican jalapeno and an electric jolt of Madeiran blood. Salsa's
sparkle comes out from bringing natural beauty and charm when
danced with passion. On any given evening you can't help but start
dancing the moment you step in. And once the place is crowded
there is no holding back - and no escaping either. Taken to a
higher level, salsa may look like one fairly difficult dance to
master. But don't let that scare you. You can enjoy it from step
one. And then there are always those dance lessons.
Salsa's easy. Give it a try. Check out Salsa Sudada.
